If Nobody Would Remember, What Would You Try?

Imagine this…

You wake up tomorrow knowing that for the next year you can do anything you want. You can start the business you’ve always dreamed about, learn something new, change your career, write the book, travel somewhere you’ve always wanted to go, or finally chase the goal that has been sitting in the back of your mind.

There is only one rule:

Nobody will remember whether you succeeded or failed.

There would be no judgment.
You would hear no opinions.
No one watching to see if you made it.

What would you do?

The answer to that question can reveal a lot about what your heart truly wants.

So often, we don’t stop ourselves because we are incapable. We stop ourselves because we are worried about what other people might think.

“What if I fail?”
“What if people think I’m crazy?”
“What if I’m not good enough?”
“What if I waste my time?”

But what if the biggest risk isn’t failing?

What if the biggest risk is staying exactly where you are because fear convinced you not to try?

Ask Yourself These Three Questions:

1. What dream keeps coming back to your mind?
The ideas you continue to think about are often there for a reason. Maybe there is something you are meant to explore.

Action to take today:
Write down three things you would try if fear was not part of the equation.

2. What are you afraid people will think?
Many people stay stuck because they are living according to other people’s expectations instead of their own dreams.

Action to take today:
Finish this sentence:
“If nobody judged me, I would…”

Be honest with yourself.

3. What is one small step you can take now?
You don’t need to have the entire plan figured out. Every successful journey starts with one decision and one action.

Action to take today:
Choose one small step toward something you’ve been putting off. Send the email. Make the plan. Learn the skill. Take the first step.

The truth is, most people are not held back by a lack of ability. They are held back by the fear of being seen trying.

But your dreams were given to you for a reason.

Give yourself permission to explore, to learn, to grow, and to become the person you have always wanted to be.

So ask yourself:

If nobody would remember whether you failed or succeeded… what would you finally have the courage to try?

Now take one step toward it.
